El Al, Israel’s national airline, has announced a waiver on change and cancellation fees for passengers in response to escalating violence with Hezbollah and growing concerns of further conflict involving Iran. This comes after recent missile attacks on Israel and suspensions of flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

Passengers who purchased tickets on or after October 1 for flights departing by October 19 can now cancel their bookings without incurring a fee. Instead, they will receive a voucher, valid for use until December 31. Additionally, the airline has waived change fees for those looking to reschedule their flights, provided they rebook for the same destination and service class. However, fare differences may still apply.

Typically, El Al imposes change and cancellation fees for passengers holding Classic economy tickets, with the specific charges varying based on the ticket class.

Flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport were briefly suspended on Tuesday after Iran launched ballistic missiles into Israel. Although flights have since resumed, El Al remains the sole carrier operating between the U.S. and Israel, maintaining vital connectivity despite the ongoing conflict.
