Delta to Launch Los Angeles–Melbourne Flights in December

Delta Air Lines will introduce a new route between Los Angeles (LAX) and Melbourne (MEL) next winter, expanding its presence in Australia. The thrice-weekly service is set to begin on December 3, marking Delta’s third route to the country alongside its year-round LAX–Sydney and seasonal LAX–Brisbane flights.

The airline will operate the route using an Airbus A350-900, offering business, premium economy, and economy seating. Delta will compete with United Airlines and Qantas, both of which already serve the LAX–Melbourne market.

On Wednesday, June 14, the esteemed airline will resume service from New York City's JFK Airport to Sydney, Australia, three days per week, ramping up to four days a week starting October 30, 2023.

This direct route from NYC to Sydney, with additional connections via Auckland, New Zealand, marks a significant increase in flight capacity between the U.S. and Australia for 2023. It's time for Americans to "Come and Say G'Day!"
